Monsoon Readiness Checklist for Telecom and Solar Sites

29 Aug 2026 Administrator Safety & Compliance 39 views

A field checklist our site teams run before every monsoon — drainage, earthing, cable entries, structural checks and emergency readiness.

Monsoon exposes every shortcut taken in the dry season. This is the pre-monsoon checklist our site teams run across telecom and solar assets.

Drainage

Clear all storm-water drains, check falls, confirm outlets are unobstructed and verify that no ponding occurs around foundations or equipment plinths.

Earthing

Measure earth resistance at every pit, top up as required, and verify continuity of the earthing grid and lightning protection system before the first storm.

Cable entries and enclosures

Inspect all gland plates, cable entries and enclosure gaskets. Water ingress into a DCDB or inverter is the most common monsoon failure and the easiest to prevent.

Structural checks

Inspect tower members and bolts for corrosion, check guy tensions where applicable, verify aviation lighting operation and confirm that MMS clamps on solar arrays are torqued.

Access and emergency

Confirm site access remains usable in wet conditions, verify DG fuel levels and battery health, and refresh emergency contact lists with the local team.
